Job Summary

Join WSP’s Power Delivery Billings Substation Team as an early-career mechanical engineer. You’ll perform detailed design work for low to extra-high voltage substations, producing one-line diagrams, physical layouts, sections/elevations, cable/conduit plans, grounding grids, foundations, structural details, control enclosure designs, and lightning protection. You’ll also support QA/QC for client deliverables, follow safety and ethical conduct standards, and complete assigned training while working individually or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations, including one-line diagrams, station layouts, sections/elevations, cable/conduit plans, grounding grid and foundation plans, structural plans, control enclosure design, lightning protection, yard lighting, and bills of materials.
•Support QA/QC for client deliverables.
•Make responsible and ethical decisions and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
•Work with client standards and processes while completing complex and technically challenging designs individually or as part of a team.
•Complete training on assigned tasks and perform additional responsibilities as needed.

Key Requirements

•BS Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Mechanical Engineering Technology (BSMET) degree from an accredited university.
•0-1 years of experience.
•Strong mechanical engineering knowledge to build on.
•Strong English communication skills for internal and client-facing work.
•Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
