Job Summary

Lead a systems security engineering section to help develop cyber-resilient solutions across critical defense programs. You’ll translate business strategy into actionable direction, manage workforce planning, and drive hiring and onboarding. Partner with program leadership and customers to define SSE requirements, evaluate trade studies, and communicate security effectiveness. Ensure compliance with NIST RMF controls, provide security architecture guidance, and oversee planning, estimating, execution, reporting, and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

•Invest in continuous growth of engineers through performance feedback, career planning, and building future technical leadership.
•Translate business strategy into actionable section direction and communicate insights to department and directorate leaders.
•Lead hiring excellence, including shaping requisitions, reviewing resumes, interviewing, selecting, and onboarding.
•Lead planning, estimating, execution oversight, project tracking, reporting, and risk mitigation while ensuring compliance with NIST RMF controls.
•Guide security engineering across the system lifecycle: define and flow down security requirements, provide security architecture guidance, and oversee planning/testing of security controls across components.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
•Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance is required prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required.
•Experience in System Security Engineering and/or Cybersecurity Engineering.
•Experience working with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
•Demonstrated experience managing, developing and motivating engineering teams.
