Job Summary

Design and scale BigQueue, a critical communication service that processes millions of requests per minute, ensuring availability, performance, monitoring, and reliable deployments. Build and evolve BigQueue and related services inside Fury, Mercado Libre’s internal development platform. Work with distributed architectures on Google Cloud Platform and AWS using messaging, streaming, and data-processing services. Solve complex scalability and consistency challenges with an AI-first engineering approach.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and implement scalable, resilient, high-throughput architectures for BigQueue, including availability, performance, monitoring, and deployments.
•Build and evolve BigQueue and associated services within Fury, ensuring reliability and scalability.
•Work with distributed architectures on GCP and AWS, using services such as Pub/Sub, Kinesis, BigQuery, and related cloud offerings.
•Contribute to roadmap and product decisions to support service evolution and adoption within MELI.
•Resolve complex problems by designing solutions from scratch to address real challenges in scale, concurrency, and consistency.

Key Requirements

•Proven backend development experience with distributed systems and cloud architecture design.
•Proficiency in Java or Golang, including concurrent and asynchronous programming for high-throughput systems.
•Experience with GCP and/or AWS cloud services, especially messaging, streaming, and data processing (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kinesis, BigQuery).
•Experience building scalable, resilient architectures with monitoring and deployment responsibilities.
•Familiarity with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and Datadog (or similar).
