Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and evolve platform, infrastructure, and engineering capabilities for scalable and reliable systems across Carousell Group.
  • •Drive agentic engineering and AI adoption across engineering teams using hands-on AI applied to engineering workflows.
  • •Provide technical direction across Platform Engineering, Infrastructure/SRE, and Data Engineering, including architecture decisions.
  • •Lead design and operation of highly scalable distributed systems focused on reliability, performance, observability, and operational excellence.
  • •Build and develop engineering leadership across managers and teams, developing senior technical talent while driving engineering excellence and investment outcomes.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience leading large-scale engineering organisations in Platform Engineering, Infrastructure/SRE and/or Data Engineering.
  • •Deep technical expertise in at least two of the three areas (Platform Engineering, Infrastructure/SRE, Data Engineering) with breadth across all three.
  • •Strong hands-on experience driving AI-native or agentic engineering adoption within an engineering organisation.
  • •Strong distributed systems architecture and design expertise, with a track record building, scaling, and operating high-scale platforms/systems.
  • •Experience leading complex technical initiatives from architecture through execution and operations.
