Job Summary

Deliver safe, efficient natural gas utility operations in Timmins by carrying out pipeline repairs and maintenance, valve inspections, construction/customer station maintenance, and appliance inspections and activation. Respond to natural gas emergencies (line-breaks, leak/odour investigations) and coordinate with external stakeholders such as fire/police and TSSA inspectors. Build a positive customer experience, support distribution system damage-prevention awareness, and perform duties in line with safety procedures, uniforms, and standby/shift requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute safe operations work including pipeline repairs/maintenance, valve inspection/maintenance, construction inspection, customer and distribution station maintenance, and natural gas appliance inspections/activation.
•Perform natural gas emergency response activities, including line-breaks, leak and odour investigations, and liaison with fire/police and TSSA inspectors.
•Interact with external customers professionally and positively to build the company image.
•Promote distribution system protection/damage prevention awareness, including third-party observation activities.
•Perform work to company standards and procedures, wear/maintain safety apparel, and participate in standby rotation and shift work as required.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: 35.93 - 46.57 hourly

Key Requirements

•Minimum Grade 12 education (or equivalent) with an active interest in natural gas utility operations and ability to learn from experienced team members.
•Obtain and maintain required Gas Utility Technician (Utility Technician) Certificate and Pipeline Inspector’s Certificate as established by TSSA within the required timeframe.
•Progress satisfactorily through USR progression steps (C2 to A1).
•Currently hold and retain an appropriate driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
•Be physically capable for strenuous manual labour and be able to wear required safety and personal protective equipment; basic computer skills and readiness for standby rotation/shift work are required.
