Key Responsibilities

  • •Safely operate major shop tools (including forklift and cranes) to perform basic operations for prototype, production, and modification/repair work.
  • •Use work orders, blueprints, sketches, and written/verbal instructions to determine machining processes, procedures, and tooling/fixture requirements.
  • •Perform machining and/or assembly tasks using standard machine shop equipment (e.g., surface grinders, drill presses, routers, power tools).
  • •Plan and perform complex/moderately complex machine set-ups, using trigonometry to calculate angles and set up accurately.
  • •Maintain cleanliness of the work area, handle tools/equipment/stock properly, and follow departmental safety requirements.
