Serve as Instacart’s hands-on technical presence inside enterprise retailer and CPG environments, embedding with partners to understand infrastructure, data systems, and workflows. •Embed with enterprise retail customers and partners to understand technical environments, data systems, and business workflows.
•Design, build, and deploy AI and agentic solutions tailored to each customer’s infrastructure and needs.
•Extend, adapt, and integrate Instacart AI capabilities into customer ecosystems, including undocumented or non-standard systems.
•Maintain a close relationship with R&D by participating in product reviews and proposing platform improvements based on field gaps.
•Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during implementation engagements.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 169,000 - 214,000 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years of software engineering experience shipping production-quality code.
•Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, function calling, tool use, agent frameworks, or RAG pipelines.
•Proficiency in Python or another scripting/backend language used in data-intensive environments.
•Experience integrating with messy, heterogeneous enterprise data environments (undocumented APIs, auth complexity, legacy systems).
•Direct customer-facing experience with technical stakeholders in a consulting or similar capacity.
