Job Summary

Lead the end-to-end execution of YUM FSQA standards across Africa, driving a risk-based, data-led food safety and quality system. Define Africa FSQA strategy aligned to global standards, ESG, and brand priorities, and oversee supplier approvals, audits, CAPA, specifications, and incident response. Manage third-party audits and compliance calibration, coach franchise markets to embed standards, and build capability for sustained governance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

•Define and lead Africa FSQA strategy aligned to global standards, ESG, and brand priorities, including end-to-end FSQA systems across suppliers, DCs, and restaurants.
•Plan and ensure market readiness for new entries while embedding FSQA into design and execution, identifying gaps, and driving cross-functional action plans.
•Own supplier approval, onboarding, and performance management; lead CAPA programs and oversee specifications, product validation, and supplier line signoffs.
•Lead crisis management, product recalls, and incident response across Africa; approve Alternative Minimum Standards (AMS) using risk assessment and ensure HACCP and related food safety systems.
•Coach franchise markets to embed FSQA standards, oversee third-party audits and compliance calibration, and lead/develop the FSQA team across Africa.

Travel: High travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Public Health, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
•8–10+ years’ FSQA experience within the food/QSR industry.
•Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, GFSI standards, FSMA, and environmental monitoring.
•Proven experience in supplier management and audit programs, crisis management, and product recall.
•Demonstrated cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and experience leading auditor programs (QSR advantageous).
