Job Summary

Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Lumen network equipment and critical infrastructure in the Las Vegas area. Own asset management for deliveries, consumables, and spare parts, coordinate shipping/receiving, and perform preventive scheduled maintenance. Assist with provisioning and restoration during service interruptions, keep installation records and trouble-ticket logs, and learn the systems required to support network integrity and customer service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•Troubleshoot network equipment and remove/replace defective modules to isolate and restore network service.
•Assist in installation/change/decommissioning and testing of technologies and network layers (including Edge Compute, Wavelength, fiber transport, Ethernet, SONET, and IP).
•Utilize tools to locate, mark, and protect underground outside plant facilities; maintain required documentation and trouble-ticket logs.
•Manage asset processes including deliveries, replenishment of consumables, shipping/receiving coordination, and maintaining tools/test sets.
•Perform level 1 preventive scheduled maintenance and inspections on network and critical infrastructure (including HVAC, high-voltage electrical, and DC power plants).

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED, or up to 2 years of relevant experience including 1+ years network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
•Entry-level technician knowledge of at least one discipline: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP (routers/higher-layer protocols), or Outside Plant (fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing).
•Knowledge of locating fiber optic cable, right-of-way, and As-Builts.
•PC skills and experience with Microsoft Windows and Office; ability to quickly learn corporate databases.
•On-call 24x7 rotational standby with dispatch and overtime as required; valid driver’s license; ability to work in all weather and lift 50 lbs.
