Job Summary

Own the unit’s backend end-to-end, ensuring coherence, reliability, and continuous evolution of all services. You’ll be the final backend gate by validating technical decisions (ADRs/RFCs, API contracts), proposing platform-level solutions, and driving systemic fixes. Lead backend audits across tech debt, performance, reliability, and security, write production code in critical areas, and help implement post-mortem actions. Mentor tech leads while advancing a Spec-First quality culture.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the unit’s backend end-to-end, covering coherence, reliability, and evolution of all services.
•Validate and approve teams’ technical decisions (ADRs/RFCs, API contracts) and act as the final backend gate.
•Propose platform-level solutions beyond local fixes and convert recurring incidents into systemic improvements.
•Audit the backend across tech debt, performance, reliability, and security, then drive the improvement plan to production.
•Write production code in critical areas, handle the hardest bugs/incidents through implementation of post-mortem actions, and mentor seniors/tech leads.

Key Requirements

•Design distributed high-load systems, including microservices and event-driven architectures, with strong systems thinking and trade-off/ADRs capability.
•Be an expert in at least one production language (Go preferred) and have deep knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL), data modeling, caching (Redis), and concurrency under load.
•Have observability and SRE experience (Prometheus/Grafana), including fault tolerance and deployment strategies like canary and feature flags.
•Understand backend security fundamentals (OWASP, authn/authz) and anti-fraud techniques such as rate limiting, attestation, request signing, mTLS, and geo-spoofing protection.
•Demonstrate privacy/regulatory awareness (GDPR/LGPD) and have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development (Claude Code) with a Spec-First mindset.
