Job Summary

Contribute to development projects by supporting concept studies, planning applications, technical approvals, and construction issue packages. Work across multiple sectors and clients as part of WSP’s Cambridge Development Team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver highways, utilities, drainage, flood risk, and SuDS work to budget, programme, and legal standards. Develop your technical capabilities while producing infrastructure masterplans, calculations, reports, and drawings.

Key Responsibilities

•Contribute to concept studies/strategies and drawing packages, including planning applications and technical approval submissions.
•Support development projects across sectors and clients, staying active on multiple projects at once.
•Engage with clients and stakeholders and liaise with internal and external design teams to support planning and approvals.
•Ensure tasks are delivered to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements.
•Produce infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations, and construction drawings.

Key Requirements

•Knowledge of highway design, drainage strategy, flood risk assessment and management, utility design, and the development industry.
•Ability to produce (with supervision) infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations, and construction drawings.
•Knowledge of relevant design codes and experience preparing drawings for contract documentation and technical approvals.
•Ability to use tools such as Info Drainage, Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or PDS.
•Postgraduate (or equivalent) experience and working towards Chartership (or equivalent experience and responsibility).
