Job Summary

Maintain and repair industrial machinery to keep Tyson’s St. Joseph plant running smoothly. Perform preventative maintenance, lubricate and adjust equipment, diagnose excessive wear and defects, and rebuild components as needed. Keep work areas clean, record maintenance work and parts used, and follow plant safety and GMP requirements. Read manuals, blueprints, and schematics, attend off-site/on-site training, and communicate parts/material needs to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

•Complete preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment, including lubrication, adjustments, scheduled service, and assisting operators during changeovers.
•Perform daily examination of assigned equipment to identify wear, defects, and damage, and repair to keep equipment in proper working order.
•Maintain a clean and orderly work area and keep equipment operating safely.
•Record maintenance and repair services performed and track materials and parts used during repairs, while observing and promoting safety and GMP specifications.
•Study manufacturer manuals and follow directions when operating/setting up machinery or making repairs, and attend training as needed.

Key Requirements

•6 months of maintenance experience in any maintenance field, or 3 months maintenance experience with a maintenance education (technical maintenance diploma or enrollment in a technical program).
•Ability to read and understand manuals/instructions, blueprints and schematics.
•Ability to verbally communicate material effectively in a training environment and communicate written/orally with team members and management.
•Basic computer skills to complete required training and/or tasks.
•Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed, and to meet physical requirements of the role.
