Job Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and inspect boilers and associated equipment in an onsite powerhouse environment. Operate and optimize systems for maximum efficiency, take and analyze boiler and tower water samples, and perform preventive maintenance. Read complex blueprints and operating instructions, keep detailed logs, manage inventory of parts, and respond to emergencies involving controls and equipment failures while following SPCC and SWPP requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain, troubleshoot, modify, repair, and inspect boilers and associated equipment both on and off site.
•Operate and adjust equipment for maximum efficiency; take water samples, analyze results, and take corrective action.
•Under the direction of the watch engineer, changeover boilers using alternate fuels, oils, or gas; may assume watch engineer responsibilities.
•Perform preventative maintenance on boilers and controls; update preventative maintenance requirements as needed and keep equipment areas clean.
•Respond to emergencies (controls malfunctions, boiler failures, tower/chiller water supply), record daily performance/log sheets, manage inventory/parts, and support SPCC/SWPP compliance.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•2+ years of experience.
•Experience in power plants/powerhouses/engine rooms/engineering spaces or similar work.
•Experience with high pressure steam boilers and/or cogeneration plants.
•Experience working from complex blueprints, drawings, service manuals, charts, graphs, and written/verbal instructions; requires a valid motor vehicle license.
