Job Summary

Drive an ambitious research and learning agenda to help eradicate polio and malaria by 2045, leading the “Ending Infectious Diseases” sub-team within the Exemplars in Global Health program. Own contributions across immunization and infectious-disease control, synthesize complex evidence into strategy and investment priorities, and translate research outputs into actionable insights for policymakers and partners. Lead technical experts across immunization, polio, malaria, and surveillance while coordinating across EGH sub-teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Hold accountability for EGH contributions toward immunization and infectious disease control and eradication, serving as a trusted advisor on strategy, evidence, and impact.
•Provide strategic leadership in synthesizing complex evidence, shaping investment and research priorities, and ensuring research outputs inform policy, program design, and decision-making.
•Lead a sub-team of technical experts across immunization, polio, malaria, surveillance, and other disease control interventions, fostering analytical rigor and a high-performing team culture.
•Serve as a sector thought leader by identifying and cultivating partnership opportunities, building relationships with academic researchers, partner organizations, and global health decision-makers.
•Allocate resources, including budget and headcount, across strategic priorities and assess projects through an impact-focused lens to maximize portfolio effectiveness.

Salary: USD 238,400 - 303,900 annually

Key Requirements

•15+ years of domain expertise in infectious diseases (malaria and/or polio preferred), immunization, surveillance, and/or uptake and scale of diagnostics and vaccines, with deep technical collaboration to drive evidence and impact.
•5+ years in leadership roles with significant management responsibility, including building and managing senior-level teams.
•Experience leading research, learning, and knowledge-generation efforts, including familiarity with mixed-methods research, evidence synthesis, and analytical approaches.
•A strong track record translating evidence and technical insights into actionable recommendations for policymakers and other decision-makers.
•Significant experience building and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders including governments, multilateral and regional development banks, philanthropic organizations, academic institutions, and global health organizations.
