Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage and support end-to-end payroll operations in Japan, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • •Handle complex payroll cases (adjustments, corrections, statutory requirements) and ensure proper resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
  • •Partner with external payroll vendors and validate outputs to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • •Perform payroll reconciliations and validations, covering payroll data accuracy, tax calculations, and benefit deductions.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of hands-on Japan payroll experience.
  • •Strong understanding of Japanese payroll practices, statutory requirements, income tax, social insurance, and year-end adjustments.
  • •Ability to handle complex payroll cases including adjustments, corrections, retroactive changes, and exception handling.
  • •Experience with payroll operations and the underlying payroll process/logic to review and validate vendor outputs.
  • •Analytical/problem-solving skills to identify root causes and propose practical solutions, with strong communication in Japanese and sufficient English for global collaboration.
