Support the LaPorte Reliability Group by improving turbomachinery reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance planning, long-range upgrade strategy, and data-driven solutions to recurring failures. Serve as a technical resource across the site and company, lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis, and provide expertise during design/installation, commissioning, MRO supplier evaluation, and lifecycle cost/value decisions. Mentor other engineers and maintain consistent machinery workflow adherence.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop long-range plans for unit machinery upgrades, overhauls, and overall equipment strategy.
•Apply data analysis to design engineering solutions for repetitive turbomachinery failures and related reliability problems.
•Provide technical support during design and installation of new assets and modifications to existing assets to maximize availability and minimize lifecycle cost.
•Participate in machinery design/installation specifications, commissioning plans, supplier evaluation, acceptance tests, and inspection criteria.
•Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis; develop and refine asset maintenance plans using preventive and predictive methodologies.

Key Requirements

•BS in Mechanical Engineering, with typically 8 years of relevant experience in refining, petrochemical, chemical process, or power generation industries (preferred).
•Strong working knowledge of turbomachinery system design, commissioning, maintenance, and operation (pumps, compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes, mechanical seals, support systems).
•Proficiency in predictive and preventive maintenance of machinery, including vibration monitoring, analysis, and diagnostics (Level II+ Vibration Institute preferred).
•Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform root cause failure analysis.
•Working proficiency with tools including SAP, Microsoft Office, and Meridium.
