Job Summary

Join SpaceX’s Bastrop site as an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to drive EHS program implementation, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance across OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH standards. Collaborate with test engineers and leadership to assess hazards, develop safety policies, and deploy programs covering general industry, hazmat, cryogenics, confined spaces, radiation, and PPE to ensure safe operations.

Job Function: Environmental & Sustainability

Key Responsibilities

•Work closely with test engineers and technician teams to perform detailed safety reviews of complex hazardous operations to ensure safe execution
•Lead or assist in all aspects of incident investigations, including initial follow-up, root cause analysis, and corrective action development and closure
•Develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH and other applicable regulatory agencies
•Collaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures
•Develop and implement safety programs including OSHA general industry/construction standards, hazcom/hazmat/cryogenics, confined space, fall protection, lockout/tag-out, radiation and laser safety

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree OR Master’s degree with 1+ years of experience in environmental, health and safety disciplines (student project team or internship qualifies)
•Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH regulations; ability to develop and maintain compliance programs
•Experience leading or assisting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action closure
•Ability to collaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
