Job Summary

Perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles using CarMax’s Certified Quality Inspection and Retail Repair processes. Diagnose and service braking, steering, suspension, alignments, and heating/air conditioning systems, and ensure quality and shop cleanliness (5S). Partner with customers to explain repair needs, accurately review and close repair orders, and manage parts inventory while following CarMax EH&S requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles.
•Diagnose and repair brakes, steering, suspension, complete 4-wheel alignments, and heating/air conditioning systems.
•Inspect vehicles to meet CarMax quality standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
•Consult with customers on repair needs and clearly explain services performed.
•Review and close repair orders accurately and manage parts inventory, receiving shipments, and stocking levels.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 32 - 48 hourly

Key Requirements

•Completion of New Associate Orientation Training – Operations and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
•Where required by state/local law, maintain ASE certifications in specified areas (Steering/Suspension, Brakes, Heating/Air Conditioning, Electrical, Engine Repair, Drive Train/Axles, Engine Performance, Automatic Transmission/Transaxle).
•Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately.
•Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
•Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
