Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the daily operation and development of the Primary School library.
  • •Deliver engaging library sessions promoting reading, storytelling, inquiry, and information literacy.
  • •Collaborate with PYP teachers and the Read Like a GEM (RLAG) Coordinator to support units of inquiry and reading skill development.
  • •Teach students how to locate, select, use, and care for library resources and recommend books aligned to students’ needs.
  • •Maintain library collections and systems, including cataloguing, circulation, purchasing, stocktaking, and ensuring a safe, orderly environment in line with safeguarding and health and safety policies.

Key Requirements

  • •A recognised library or teaching qualification is preferred.
  • •Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
  • •Experience supporting school library operations (including cataloguing, circulation, purchasing, stocktaking) and using library-management systems.
  • •Knowledge of the IB Primary Years Programme is desirable.
  • •Excellent written and spoken English.
