Investigate whether Gaussian Splatting (GS) can become a future streaming format by compressing 3D/4D scene reconstructions with photorealistic novel-view rendering. Work on reducing GS training/encoding time, improving compression efficiency, and quantifying trade-offs against streaming-rate targets. Build a proof-of-concept PoC to demonstrate GS-based rendering on content of interest, using ML and software engineering best practices.
