Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide individual student planning with teachers and parents, including goal-setting, strategies, and Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).
  • •Deliver responsive counselling to individual students and small groups based on identified needs, including anxiety, grief, trauma, and family break-up.
  • •Coordinate action plans, manage an effective referral process within the Inclusion Team, and collaborate with external agencies to implement recommendations.
  • •Maintain confidential records of student consultations and interventions, use assessment data appropriately, and make clear recommendations to parents and the Inclusion Team.
  • •Run and evaluate the counselling program across the academic year, including parent workshops, needs assessments for systemic social and emotional needs, and continuous improvement via feedback.

Key Requirements

  • •Certification in counselling, psychology, or social work.
  • •At least three years of school-based experience or previous experience working with schools and students in a counselling capacity.
  • •A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • •Understanding of the developmental, emotional, social, and educational issues of children and young people.
  • •Excellent communication in written and spoken English, strong interpersonal skills, and strong IT skills.
