Job Summary

Support Barnes & Thornburg’s Immigration and Global Mobility Services practice from the Raleigh office by handling business immigration casework for Japanese-speaking clients. Prepare and process nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions using USCSI and consular applications (DS-160), analyze case documents for attorney review, and manage a high-volume case docket with timely client and stakeholder communication. Stay current on immigration developments and assist with review of Japanese-language materials.

Job Function: Legal, Risk & Compliance

Key Responsibilities

•Demonstrate expertise in procedural and processing requirements for business non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions using USCSI and consular applications (DS-160).
•Communicate in Japanese and English with clients, beneficiaries, attorneys, and stakeholders regarding case documents and status.
•Independently analyze case documents and prepare business immigration applications for attorney review and submission.
•Manage your case docket to ensure timely communication with clients and attorneys.
•Assist with review of Japanese-language documents and stay up to date on immigration developments to share with the team.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent training, education, and experience.
•Fluency in Japanese and English with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
•Previous experience preparing business immigration applications with USCSI and consular processing, including visa petitions such as E1/E2, L1A/L1B, L Blanket, H, L, TN, O/P, PERM, I-140, and AOS.
•Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
•Ability to work independently, handle a high volume of cases, and meet deadlines.
