Key Responsibilities

  • •Own electrical Early Field Failure Analysis from returned unit intake and evidence review through technical disposition, confirmed mechanism, and closure.
  • •Lead field quality and safety investigations for battery, charging, and power-related issues, including risk assessment and containment/escalation decisions.
  • •Execute non-destructive-first failure analysis workflows (received-condition documentation, electrical characterization, ring diagnostics, optical inspection/imaging, then destructive as needed).
  • •Isolate failure mechanisms across power, battery, charging, sensor, clock, connectivity, interconnect, and leakage-related faults using electrical characterization and diagnostic tools.
  • •Drive corrective actions with contract manufacturers and suppliers, verify effectiveness before closure, and feed confirmed findings into NPI design, DFMEA, component and test coverage inputs.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of experience in Product Quality, Failure Analysis, or Manufacturing Quality Engineering supporting electronic products.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related technical discipline (advanced degree plus).
  • •Strong electrical engineering fundamentals across analog/digital circuits, power management, batteries and charging, sensors, clocks, PCBs/flex circuits, and interconnect failure behavior.
  • •Hands-on troubleshooting at board, subassembly, and component level using electrical measurements and structured fault isolation.
  • •Experience using SQL/Python and tools such as JMP or Minitab to analyze data for cleaning, hypothesis testing, commonality analysis, and communicating uncertainty.
