Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop mining and industrial cost estimates aligned to industry deliverables, including Basis of Estimate, estimating plan, assumptions/exclusions, indirect strategy, and contingency methodology.
  • •Prepare phase-specific estimates across conceptual/scoping, pre-feasibility, feasibility, detailed design, and construction/execution stages.
  • •Use industry-accepted estimating methods and tools (e.g., factored/parametric, unit-rate, first-principles) and create detailed cost estimates based on engineering deliverables and take-offs.
  • •Build and maintain cost databases and mining-specific parametric/factored estimating tools, and perform cost comparisons and benchmarking against contractor/EPC/EPCM and vendor pricing.
  • •Lead estimate reconciliation workshops, support stage-gate estimate reviews, and quantify project risks and opportunities impacting cost and schedule.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related field) plus 8 years of related cost estimating experience (mining/industrial preferred) or demonstrated equivalency.
  • •Extensive knowledge of cost estimating, construction methodologies, engineering design principles, and applicable industry standards and best practices.
  • •Experience with class estimate frameworks for industrial/mining phases and documenting assumptions, contingency, and risk.
  • •Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing for industrial/mining sites, including constraints and shutdown/turnaround interfaces where applicable.
  • •Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead, execute, review, and present complex cost estimating assignments and projects.
