Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist Geotechnical Engineers with routine inspections of pit walls, benches, ramps, and waste dumps for instability.
  • •Install, maintain, and troubleshoot geotechnical monitoring equipment and collect monitoring data per procedures.
  • •Monitor ground movement using prisms, radar systems, piezometers, and other geotechnical instruments; respond and report instability signs.
  • •Install and configure vibrating wire piezometer sensors and set up slope stability radars during blasting and maintenance.
  • •Support geotechnical investigations, inspections, and reporting by preparing daily/weekly reports and uploading data to the centralized geotechnical database.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 1–3 years of experience in an open-pit mining environment.
  • •Experience with IDS and Reutech slope stability radar systems is an advantage.
  • •Experience with vibrating wire piezometers and Total station systems.
  • •Valid Zambian driving licence (minimum B Class Manual).
  • •Full Grade 12 Certificate and a minimum Diploma in Mining Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related discipline; member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
