Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform in-depth data analysis to identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement and plant performance/efficiency gains.
  • •Continuously develop, improve, and tune base layer and expert controllers to enhance process stability and efficiency.
  • •Develop and deploy adaptive and advanced process control strategies to optimize key parameters and maintain consistent product quality.
  • •Build and deploy soft sensors, use soft-sensor data for predictive modeling, and lead integration of AI applications into process control functionality.
  • •Coach and mentor local employees, facilitate training, and deliver technical presentations and reports.

Key Requirements

  • •Extensive experience (10+ years) in process control engineering in a copper/nickel sulphide concentrator or similar mineral processing environment.
  • •Proficiency using advanced control strategies, soft sensors, and AI applications in process environments.
  • •Deep understanding of metallurgical operations of a high-throughput copper concentrator.
  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Control, or a related field.
  • •Eligibility for Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) membership and legal appointment under Zambia Mining Regulations; qualifications must be certified by ZAQA.
