Optimize the Sentinel copper concentrator plant by identifying process improvement opportunities, analyzing operating data, and developing advanced process control strategies. Develop and tune base layer and expert controllers, build soft sensors for real-time monitoring, and use soft-sensor data to support predictive modeling. Lead integration of AI into process control functionality while coaching and mentoring local employees and presenting technical results to diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform in-depth data analysis to identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement and plant performance/efficiency gains.
•Continuously develop, improve, and tune base layer and expert controllers to enhance process stability and efficiency.
•Develop and deploy adaptive and advanced process control strategies to optimize key parameters and maintain consistent product quality.
•Build and deploy soft sensors, use soft-sensor data for predictive modeling, and lead integration of AI applications into process control functionality.
•Coach and mentor local employees, facilitate training, and deliver technical presentations and reports.

Key Requirements

•Extensive experience (10+ years) in process control engineering in a copper/nickel sulphide concentrator or similar mineral processing environment.
•Proficiency using advanced control strategies, soft sensors, and AI applications in process environments.
•Deep understanding of metallurgical operations of a high-throughput copper concentrator.
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Control, or a related field.
•Eligibility for Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) membership and legal appointment under Zambia Mining Regulations; qualifications must be certified by ZAQA.
