Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist assignment editors, producers, writers, editors, and reporters with daily news operations in a dynamic newsroom.
  • •Identify and pitch compelling stories, and follow up on story leads while working under tight deadlines.
  • •Support fact-checking and story development, including finding visual news elements and obtaining clearances.
  • •Identify story sources and experts, pre-interview subjects, and help prepare for news coverage.
  • •Log breaking news events and assist across platforms, including assisting with shooting and editing for social media.

Key Requirements

  • •Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution for the entire internship duration (recent graduates are not eligible).
  • •Current class standing of Junior or above.
  • •Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship now or in the future to retain authorization.
  • •Must be available to work 20 hours per week during the internship.
  • •Must be willing to work in San Jose, CA.
