Key Responsibilities

  • •Own polymer-related aspects from DFM through product launch, providing plastics tool expertise.
  • •Consult with design engineers and suppliers on process and tooling feasibility, including DFM, efficiency, and cost; ensure tool capability, robustness, and cost-effectiveness at sign-off.
  • •Evaluate flow studies and mold designs before tool approval and kick-off.
  • •Ensure plastic tooling complies with Lucid Tool Standards and support on-site assessment of tool quality/condition.

Key Requirements

  • •B.S. in polymer engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • •5+ years evaluating DFM and injection molding tool designs.
  • •Excellent knowledge of injection tooling and processes including in-mold decoration/labeling, foaming, water/gas assist, overmolding, back-injection, and vario-thermal processes.
  • •Experience with DFM for automotive A-surface parts.
  • •Excellent communication skills and the ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% if needed.
