Job Summary

Repair and maintain construction and mechanical equipment across Utah and the Wasatch Counties, including troubleshooting issues and making durable repairs. Dismantle equipment to remove defective parts, perform preventative maintenance (oil changes, greasing, fluids, filters), and diagnose electrical/hydraulic systems and diesel/gas engines, transmissions, and drive trains. Maintain shop/vehicle systems, order parts, handle paperwork and job functions on computer systems, and support safe, organized work areas.

Key Responsibilities

•Troubleshoot equipment problems and make economical, durable repairs.
•Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists and hand tools.
•Maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, shop and non-mobile equipment on a company-wide basis.
•Service vehicles/equipment including oil changes, greasing, adding fluids, changing filters, and performing preventative maintenance schedules.
•Order parts and supplies; maintain purchase orders and invoices; operate computer for job functions.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED.
•5 years of experience as a skilled automotive mechanic, including mechanical maintenance experience with heavy duty construction equipment (e.g., dozers, excavators, motor graders, water trucks, light duty support vehicles).
•Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•Must have a current and valid driver’s license.
•Ability to type/use keyboards accurately and have knowledge of database software.
