Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws, transporting loads safely and on time while following all traffic and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and follow loading crew signals.
  • •Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted; unload empty skids and return equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain required delivery paperwork (signed invoices and shipping bills of lading) and deliver documentation to the appropriate shipping office or staff after routes are complete.
  • •Perform routine service checks (e.g., oil, water, gasoline, air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor; arrange trailers in shipping yards.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial driver’s license (Class A CDL) appropriate for the vehicle weight or a chauffeur’s license depending on state requirements.
  • •Pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state DOT regulations, and pass a DOT physical (trucks driven are over 10k lbs).
  • •Be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicles.
  • •Provide strong interpersonal and customer service skills when speaking professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Meet physical requirements, including prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab, lifting/moving up to 40 pounds, and frequent travel.
