Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for mills, lathes, and other equipment to fabricate reactor components.
  • •Set up, operate, and troubleshoot manual and CNC machining equipment while working with nuclear-grade materials.
  • •Select, design, and develop tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies to produce compliant parts while maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste.
  • •Perform first article and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to verify part conformance.
  • •Follow NQA-1 controlled work packages and travelers with full material traceability and detailed documentation, partnering with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Production to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate, associate degree, or apprenticeship in CNC programming/machining preferred.
  • •4–6 years combined experience in CNC programming and precision machining in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • •Proficiency with multi-axis CNC programming and hands-on operation of CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turns.
  • •Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and GD&T.
  • •Understanding of precision metrology/inspection techniques and strong attention to detail with documentation and procedural compliance.
