Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the principal 2LoD adviser to the MLRO and advise MLRO, senior management, and 1LoD teams on digital asset products from concept through lifecycle management.
  • •Lead compliance assessment of new/changing cryptocurrency, stablecoin, and blockchain products and business models, translating risks into proportionate control requirements and governance.
  • •Build and further develop Visa Direct’s stablecoin/blockchain control framework, including governance, policies, risk assessments, and evidence for licensing and regulatory expectations.
  • •Provide technical advice and oversight on digital asset controls (due diligence, analytics, wallet/sanctions screening, monitoring, investigations, record keeping, and fiat-to-on-chain interfaces).
  • •Conduct risk-based oversight and testing of material third-party digital asset controls, evaluate findings, drive remediation to closure, and report outcomes to the MLRO and senior management.

Key Requirements

  • •Relevant graduate degree or equivalent professional experience in Law, Finance, Economics, Risk, Compliance, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • •Significant 2LoD financial crime or regulatory compliance experience in payments, cross-border money movement, banking, fintech, or a regulated digital asset business.
  • •Hands-on experience with cryptocurrency and stablecoin products, blockchain-based payment flows, and the controls to manage associated risks.
  • •Strong knowledge of digital asset financial crime risks and controls, including blockchain analytics, wallet screening, transaction monitoring, sanctions, Travel Rule, due diligence, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
  • •Experience designing, executing, or overseeing risk-based testing/assurance of third-party or outsourced controls, including sampling, findings assessment, and remediation tracking.
