Key Responsibilities

•Scout, evaluate, and qualify next-generation battery technologies, chemistries, packaging concepts, and manufacturing innovations.
•Collaborate with battery suppliers and introduce new technologies into Sonova hearing instruments and chargers.
•Lead battery characterization, verification, validation, reliability, and lifetime assessments throughout product development.
•Drive battery integration across hearing instruments and charging systems with electrical, mechanical, software, system, manufacturing, and quality engineers.
•Develop Python tools for automated testing and data analysis, and apply statistical methods/DoE to optimize battery performance and support data-driven decisions.

Key Requirements

•Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.
•Proven experience developing battery technologies in medical devices, consumer electronics, wearables, automotive, or another high-tech industry.
•Experience working with battery suppliers and introducing new battery technologies into products.
•Strong understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS), battery modeling, charging strategies, and SoC/SoH estimation algorithms.
•Strong Python programming skills and experience with JMP, statistical analysis, and Design of Experiments (DoE).
