Key Responsibilities

  • •Automate recurring bookkeeping and VAT work by integrating spend management tools with DATEV and building rules/API-based connectors.
  • •Migrate bookkeeping and VAT compliance from external providers into a DATEV environment, including chart-of-accounts design and an audit trail.
  • •Own intercompany reconciliation and consolidation across entities, establishing the foundation for IFRS as it scales.
  • •Drive tool setup and integrations (including Payhawk), validate tax/account mappings, and design standardized procure-to-pay and expense workflows with audit trails.
  • •Deliver timely reporting and coordinate with external tax advisors, proactively flag risks to keep closings, filings, and audits on track.

Key Requirements

  • •Real in-house accounting experience across AR/AP, bank reconciliations, accruals and deferrals, and monthly closing (ideally in DATEV Rechnungswesen or similar).
  • •Experience migrating accounting and VAT processes from manual/external setups into an in-house, automated DATEV environment with clear SOPs and measurable improvements.
  • •Automation-driven approach to removing yourself from manual work by designing rules, connectors, and integrations.
  • •Strong intercompany and multi-entity experience including intercompany invoicing, monthly reconciliations, and audit-ready schedules for consolidation and group reporting.
  • •Fluency in German GAAP with willingness to support IFRS as the business scales.
