Job Summary

Shape and lead a town planning team delivering complex, nationally important consenting projects across infrastructure, energy, residential, commercial, and public sector developments. Provide strategic planning advice, lead multidisciplinary teams, manage planning services and client consenting requirements, and coordinate submissions including Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs). Engage with regulators, local authorities, and stakeholders, act as project director and planning expert witness, and support bid preparation and business development.

Key Responsibilities

•Shape and lead a planning team, supporting how WSP positions and grows its planning service offering.
•Lead and manage the delivery of planning services across a diverse portfolio of projects and consenting inputs on major projects.
•Provide technical leadership and advice to clients, including site appraisals and development feasibility assessments.
•Coordinate the preparation and submission of consent applications, including applications under the Planning and Development Acts and EIAR-linked planning submissions.
•Act as Project Director and Planning Expert Witness when needed, and lead complex negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders on clients’ behalf.

Key Requirements

•Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline.
•Chartered Member (or working towards) of the Irish Planning Institute (IPI) or RTPI.
•Strong knowledge of the Irish planning system, legislation, and consenting processes.
•Demonstrated experience in managing planning applications and Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) coordination.
•Experience managing multiple projects, delivering to tight deadlines, and engaging stakeholders.
