Job Summary

Assist with installation and qualification of manufacturing systems, troubleshoot day-to-day equipment and process issues, and implement improvements to increase throughput, yield, and product performance. Run daily measurement routines using a Microvu optical comparator, monitor laser systems for quality, and respond to SPC alarms to bring processes back into control. Execute planned experiments, analyze and report data, maintain gauges, update technical documentation, and train production associates at the New Iberia facility.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist in installation and qualification of systems and troubleshoot day-to-day manufacturing issues to drive throughput, yield, and product performance.
•Run daily measurement routines on Microvu optical comparator and align laser systems and scribe parameters; act as point of contact for laser issues.
•Monitor production line lasers to ensure product quality and respond to SPC process control alarms to bring processes back into control.
•Execute planned process experiments, collect and analyze data, and report experimental results.
•Set up and maintain gauges, ensure processes run on target per the Process Control Plan, update internal documentation, and train production associates.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 18.89 - 26.44 hourly

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
•Must meet at least one qualification: an associates degree in a technical discipline, 2+ years machine/mechanic experience, 1 year First Solar technical experience, or 6 months experience as a Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician at First Solar.
•Safety-first mindset.
•General electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge.
•Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems on the manufacturing line; good written and oral communication skills in English.
