Job Summary

Lead a team within the Data Platform organization to develop, evolve, and drive enterprise adoption of an ontology-based semantic data modeling framework. Own the end-to-end architecture (ontology design, schema management, validation, versioning, and integration), build scalable tooling and services for model governance, and partner with product, data, security/threat graph, detection engineering, and AI/ML teams to accelerate time-to-value across CrowdStrike’s data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and grow an engineering team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the ontology-based semantic data modeling framework.
•Define and own end-to-end semantic modeling architecture, including ontology design, schema management, validation, versioning, and integration with downstream data systems.
•Drive development of scalable, production-grade tooling and services enabling teams to define, discover, extend, and govern semantic data models.
•Establish engineering best practices for ontology governance, model lifecycle management, data quality, interoperability, and extensibility.
•Partner across Data Platform and internal teams to align with cloud-native infrastructure and identify high-leverage integration opportunities, while creating enablement and adoption metrics.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 160,000 - 250,000 annually

Key Requirements

•10+ years progressive software engineering experience, including 4+ years leading engineering teams of 6+ engineers.
•Proven expertise in data modeling, ontology design, semantic modeling, knowledge graphs, or domain-driven data architecture.
•Experience building and shipping platforms/frameworks/developer tools requiring adoption across an engineering organization.
•Strong understanding of graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Neptune, JanusGraph) and semantic standards (RDF/OWL/SHACL/SPARQL), plus familiarity with schema registries, metadata platforms, or semantic layers.
•Experience with modern cloud-native data ecosystems (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Flink, data lake/lakehouse architectures) and the ability to influence cross-organizational partners.
