Job Summary

Lead substation electrical design efforts across Boise, ID and multiple US locations. Provide CAD design support, generate detailed plans, models, and specifications for multi-site substations, coordinate with engineers, ensure code compliance, mentor junior staff, and maintain high-quality designs for power and energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical design and CAD support to ensure production of designs and specifications for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services lines across multi-site projects.
•Oversee and generate CAD designs for projects of moderate to large scope, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards and codes.
•Collaborate with engineers to resolve design issues, prepare multiple design versions for review, and ensure quality control and contract compliance.
•Mentor and train entry-level drafting and design staff, coordinating with project teams to meet schedules and deliverables.
•Ensure plans comply with city, state, and federal regulations and maintain up-to-date knowledge of drafting practices and project standards.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•11+ years of relevant post-education experience in drafting/design support.
•Advanced knowledge of drafting and design support principles, practices, processes, methods and techniques.
•Advanced knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with technical and non-technical audiences.
