Key Responsibilities

  • •Study specifications and measure, mark, and cut boards using patterns/templates and tools.
  • •Fasten and install parts using tools such as hammers, nailing machines, or power staplers to secure cargo items.
  • •Repair, fabricate, and build crates, pallets, dunnage, and restraints, including inserting bracings, cardboard files, and felt pads in containers.
  • •Preserve, pack, seal, band, and apply markings to crates and containers for shipping.
  • •Inspect railcars, assist in tying down vehicles/equipment and MILVANS to specifications, and install CIDD (Container Intrusion Detection Device) when required.
Travel: Extensive travel

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent is preferred (relevant work experience may be substituted).
  • •Working knowledge of various power saws and basic woodworking principles.
  • •2 years woodworking experience and knowledge of packaging and preservation principles and techniques preferred.
  • •Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and obtain Tier1/NACI (Public trust) background eligibility.
  • •Must possess or be able to obtain a forklift license and have HAZMAT processing working knowledge (and be capable of obtaining required HAZMAT certification).
