Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide day-to-day delivery support for concept studies/strategies and transport planning documents such as Transport Statements/Assessments, Travel Plans, Parking Studies, Access Studies, and Movement/Access Studies, including leading planning applications and post-permission condition works.
  • •Lead and manage collaborative working relationships with clients, colleagues, and staff to ensure effective service delivery.
  • •Maintain key client relationships and network to raise WSP profile, staying current with relevant standards and policies.
  • •Support high-profile client engagement, stakeholder management, design team liaison, and project management across multidisciplinary professionals.
  • •Ensure projects are delivered to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements, including mentoring/support for technical staff as appropriate.

Key Requirements

  • •Numerate first degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning, or a related subject, with postgraduate experience and progression toward Chartership or equivalent commercial experience.
  • •Significant experience delivering transport planning projects across development planning, scheme delivery, sustainable transport and active travel, including junction design (priority, roundabout, signals) and relevant standards.
  • •Working knowledge of junction modelling software (e.g., Junctions 9 such as PICADY & ARCADY, and Linsig), able to mentor others and interpret/challenge results.
  • •Experience operating as a lead client contact, with strong communication and a track record of presenting compelling written work for development proposals.
  • •Experience financially and programme managing projects and knowledge of financial/contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and delivering projects, including team management responsibilities (line management and day-to-day operations).
