Key Responsibilities

  • •Stand up the data team from scratch as the first hire and owner.
  • •Source, license, and purchase real-world financial data and artifacts from across the industry.
  • •Build anonymization and compliance pipelines to turn sensitive data into training-safe assets.
  • •Build systems to catalogue, version, and distribute data for self-serve use by project teams.
  • •Own vendor and data-provider relationships, including negotiation and renewal, plus data quality, provenance, and licensing judgment calls.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience building a data acquisition, licensing, or ops function, ideally one that didn’t exist before you arrived.
  • •Strong engineering instincts with the ability to build pipelines and tooling yourself.
  • •Product judgment to determine when data is good enough for a given use case and when to stop.
  • •Comfort operating without a playbook with fast iteration in a startup environment.
  • •Client-facing comfort working directly with project leads, vendors, and subject matter experts.
