Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and operate MongoDB infrastructure to meet enterprise-grade SLAs, with deep ownership of availability, durability, and query performance.
  • •Build proactive, MongoDB-specific monitoring and alerting for symptoms like oplog lag, replication health, lock contention, and index hit rates.
  • •Improve MongoDB developer experience by partnering with product engineering on schema, index strategies, and aggregation pipelines, and creating self-service tooling and runbooks.
  • •Manage MongoDB cluster lifecycle on Kubernetes (provisioning, upgrades, failovers, decommissions) using MongoDB’s Kubernetes Operator and IaC via Terraform and Ansible.
  • •Participate in PagerDuty on-call, lead incident retrospectives with system fixes, and maintain runbooks for effective incident response.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer in a production environment.
  • •Hands-on MongoDB expertise, including replica sets, sharding, index design, aggregation pipelines, explain plans, and performance tuning under real load.
  • •Strong Linux fundamentals and comfort operating at the OS level (disk I/O, memory, networking, process management).
  • •Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Ruby, or JavaScript for automation (JavaScript/Python plus for MongoDB shell scripting and aggregation work).
  • •Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible or equivalent) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
