Work with the Hardware Product Management team to define optical interconnect deployment use cases and architectures, partnering with Sales and Systems Engineering. Develop and maintain application notes, white papers, and web-based configuration tools for Arista switches and routers across DWDM generations. Support conferences with engineered demo configurations, and build Python automation to run and analyze lab optical/electrical tests to validate high-performance optical systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Define use cases for scale-up/scale-out and across generations of optical interconnect, switches, and router families; educate Sales Engineering on deployment configurations.
•Create deployment rules and optical configuration tools for mixed-rate interconnect and scaling across DWDM technologies; maintain internal and external documentation.
•Develop web-based tools to validate supported Arista switch/router generations and optics interconnect configurations.
•Support technical conferences by defining demo configurations with PLM/engineering, assisting with equipment setup/logistics, and attending as required.
•Write and maintain Python code to automate test flows, control lab instruments, and analyze test data; set up/run optical/electrical tests and validate DWDM single and multi-span systems.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 133,000 - 185,000 annually

Key Requirements

•A Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related technical field (PhD in photonics and/or MBA preferred).
•5+ years of experience with optical networking and DWDM design and deployment.
•Understanding and analysis of DWDM signal propagation and simulation, including multi-span amplified systems.
•Strong practical knowledge of Ethernet, DWDM, and coherent optical technologies.
•Hands-on experience with optical test equipment such as OTDR, OSA, BERT, optical power meters, and oscilloscopes, with troubleshooting skills.
