Job Summary

Own producibility of the Fuel Handling System hardware from concept through production—covering welded structures, precision-machined components, sheet metal/bent parts, sealing interfaces, shielding assemblies, and metrology. Partner with design engineers to ensure buildable, testable, and inspectable designs, and decide what to fabricate in-house versus source from vendors. Lead fabrication for test rigs and prototypes, drive process improvements, and support installation and commissioning at the reactor facility in Idaho.

Key Responsibilities

•Own producibility of FHS hardware from concept through production across welded, machined, sheet metal/bent, shielding, and sealing interfaces.
•Partner with design engineers to ensure parts are buildable, testable, and inspectable from early concept.
•Drive in-house fabrication of test rigs, sodium immersion casks, peripheral test equipment, and the full-scale prototype.
•Develop weld procedures, tooling, fixtures, and inspection plans for stainless steel and sodium-service materials.
•Support process improvements to reduce build time and increase first-pass yield, and assist installation/commissioning at the reactor facility in Idaho.

•Ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
•Comfort working hands-on in a fast-paced factory environment with a strong ownership mindset.
