Key Responsibilities

  • •Assess intrinsic and extrinsic reliability of photonic devices and photonic ICs post-fabrication and in integrated product form factors.
  • •Optimize reliability through process changes and develop reliability models via DOEs.
  • •Develop reliability characterization and acceleration techniques, analytical tools, and quality screens.
  • •Define requirements for process certification and product qualification and ensure quality alignment across the development life cycle.
  • •Investigate and determine root causes/mechanisms of failures from reliability testing activities or customer returns, and support smooth transition to HVM with quality systems and fab excursion support.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum 2+ years of proven experience in photonics devices development at a leading foundry, or 4+ years photonics experience from an academic institution, or 4+ years hands-on compound semiconductor processing with deep knowledge of photonic device physics, or 4+ years relevant engineering experience with device characterization, yield, reliability, or test/validation.
  • •Experience developing reliability models using DOEs, and conducting reliability characterization and acceleration techniques.
  • •Knowledge of failure mode effects analyses and model-based problem-solving approaches.
  • •Statistics and data analysis capability using tools such as Excel, SAS, and JMP.
  • •Familiarity with SPC/DOE principles, reliability failure statistics/physics/failure mechanisms and failure analysis methodologies (plus tools like JMP/Crystal Ball/ILM/REL/PCS/SQL scripting).
