Key Responsibilities

  • •Own end-to-end Product Control for Markets/Markets Treasury, accountable for P&L and Balance Sheet control within the HSBC risk framework.
  • •Proactively manage controls, SOX activities, risks/issues, and align Front Office, Product Control, and Controllership to emerging risk themes.
  • •Deliver timely, accurate daily/monthly P&L with clear commentary and attribution, and provide constructive challenge to reduce reporting uncertainty.
  • •Lead Balance Sheet substantiation for Product Control-owned accounts, including monthly analytical review and BSRS with governance/audit trail.
  • •Identify, investigate, escalate and close breaks to root cause within agreed timelines; partner to ensure consistent accounting/valuation principles and reporting integrity, and drive automation and control standard improvements.

Key Requirements

  • •10-15 years of experience with 5 years in a Product Control function or similar role with strong control focus.
  • •Strong understanding of Product Control workflow, including controls and assurance activities.
  • •Knowledge of financial market products, associated risks, trade lifecycle, accounting principles, and valuation techniques/models.
  • •Track record of driving change and automation, including using tools such as Alteryx and Python (AI/ML experience is an advantage).
  • •Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders across Finance and Front Office; ability to influence outcomes and manage nearshore/offshore teams.
