Job Summary

Provide strategic leadership for pilot and cabin crew roster and leave planning, ensuring safe, compliant, fatigue-aware, and cost-effective airline operations. Lead and develop crew planning management teams through subordinate managers, govern crew planning standards and optimization frameworks, and oversee Jeppesen Roster Optimizer governance and change control. Partner across Flight Operations, Safety, and Crew Resources to embed GCAA compliance and FRMS principles while driving innovation, continuous improvement, and effective communication to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the strategic direction of pilot and cabin crew roster and leave planning to deliver safe, compliant, efficient, and operationally resilient outcomes.
•Define, govern, and continuously enhance crew planning standards, methodologies, optimisation frameworks, and planning policies balancing operational efficiency and crew wellbeing.
•Provide strategic oversight of the Jeppesen Roster Optimizer, including governance, configuration, optimisation, change control, and continuous enhancement.
•Ensure GCAA regulatory compliance and embed Fatigue Risk Management (FRMS) principles into roster construction and operational decision-making.
•Lead, develop, and build capability across the Crew Planning management team and represent crew planning as a senior subject matter expert across the business.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification preferred.
•10+ years’ experience in airline crew planning, rostering, or airline operations.
•5+ years’ experience leading airline crew planning teams, managing managers and delivering results through multi-layered leadership.
•Advanced knowledge of airline crew resource planning, roster optimisation, workforce planning methodologies, and enterprise crew planning systems (including Jeppesen Roster Optimizer or equivalent).
•Strong understanding of GCAA (or equivalent) regulatory frameworks and Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS), including human performance principles and industry best practices.
