Job Summary

Develop, revise, and maintain technical and occasional administrative procedures for DOE programs at the Y-12 National Security Complex and Pantex Plant. Ensure compliance with relevant technical and administrative standards, using procedure authoring tools and coordinating procedure reviews and comment resolution. Implement hazard controls, capture quality/performance data, and support verification and validation so procedures can be performed safely and as written.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop new, revised, or modified technical procedures for tasks including dimensional inspection, material testing, metrology, procurement, radiography, and weld inspection.
•Comply with Y15-232 and the Technical Procedure Authoring Tool (TPAT) when authoring technical procedures.
•Occasionally develop or revise administrative procedures and comply with Y15-235 using the Administrative Procedure Authoring Tool (APAT).
•Develop enterprise procedures applicable to Y-12 and Pantex and coordinate procedure reviews with comment resolution.
•Implement hazard controls, capture quality/performance data, and support verification and validation so procedures can be performed as written.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 64,526 - 109,710

Key Requirements

•Active DOE Q clearance or ability to obtain one.
•Bachelor of Science degree with 10-14 years of experience in technical disciplines, including writing technical procedures in a commercial or Weapons Complex facility (or 18 years experience without the degree).
•Must be a US citizen and at least 18 years of age, and be able to meet pre-employment physicals/drug screen/background investigation requirements for DOE clearance.
•Familiarity with regulatory and administrative requirements for procedures, including determining technical requirements using DOE Orders and Standards plus referenced QA and integrated quality manual documents.
•Knowledge of Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) documents and Hazard Analysis documents.
