Job Summary

Design, implement, and improve secure, scalable software systems for Visa’s fintech business, spending most time coding and collaborating with product, design, data science, QA, operations, and compliance. Translate functional requirements into system designs, lead design reviews and code reviews, build extensible reusable code, and create comprehensive test plans. Debug complex issues, participate in on-call incident response, and develop developer tools to improve automation and performance.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with stakeholders to determine requirements for product components and incorporate feedback into designs or solutions.
•Translate functional requirements into system designs, communicate component interactions, and ensure alignment with business needs and timelines.
•Design and develop product components, refine code plans, and lead design reviews to ensure completeness and adherence to requirements.
•Contribute to project estimation, lead code reviews, and drive code quality through metrics and coding best practices.
•Create complex test plans, address test gaps and defects, and respond to incidents during on-call rotations to troubleshoot and support resolution.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 2 years with an Advanced degree; alternatively 0 years with a PhD, or 8+ years relevant work experience.
•Experience in software engineering with building and/or implementing web-based or mobile applications.
•Experience in technologies/software systems or a directly related field.
•Experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
•Experience creating and maintaining test plans, executing testing procedures, and debugging/troubleshooting software issues.
