Job Summary

Serve as an early commercial legal hire for a fast-growing conversational AI company, advising Sales and cross-functional teams through complex enterprise SaaS deal cycles. Negotiate and draft high-volume agreements (MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, DPAs, partner/reseller deals), build contracting policies and controls, and define legal team operating norms. Partner on AI governance, security, and IP issues while accelerating revenue and protecting the business.

•Review and negotiate commercial agreements, balancing legal risk with business outcomes and tailoring guidance by deal stage.
•Partner with sales teams, using knowledge of the company’s technology and market norms to provide solutions-oriented guidance.
•Establish legal team working norms and processes to deliver top-tier service in a hypergrowth environment.
•Design, update, and enforce policies and controls over the company’s contracting process.
•Support scaling of commercial operations and take on new challenges outside commercial legal as appropriate.

Key Requirements

•Qualified attorney in your jurisdiction with 4–8+ years of legal experience, including time at a top-tier law firm and/or a relevant in-house role.
•Deep experience drafting, negotiating, and closing high-volume commercial agreements, including SaaS, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, DPAs, and partner/reseller deals.
•Fluency in legal frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and experience with security concepts, AI governance, and IP concerns in SaaS transactions.
•Ability to balance legal risk with business outcomes and tailor guidance based on context and deal stage.
•Comfort being a go-to legal resource across Sales, Finance, Product, and RevOps while building scalable global contracting processes.
